Our take

Written Sep 11, 2026

Resonant 1 Flash is a proprietary speech-to-text model from Reson8 that turns audio into written words. It performs better than most rivals across every English recording condition we track, from clean studio audio to messy meeting-room recordings, though it is not the absolute best on any single one.

Who should pick it

Pick this for general-purpose English transcription where you need one model to handle both polished podcasts and noisy meeting rooms, or for European-accented financial calls where it outperforms most alternatives. Skip it if you need a public deployment path, non-English languages, or the absolute lowest error rate on a specific condition.

The case for it

  • Better than most on every condition measured: read-aloud, podcasts, accented speech and meetings.
  • Especially strong on accented earnings calls at 5.48% word error, roughly 1.4 times better than the median of 62 models.
  • Near the top on clean audio at 0.95% word error, against a median of 1.4% across 78 models.

The case against it

  • Not the absolute best on any condition: 0.95% vs 0.9% on read-aloud, 8.21% vs 6.1% on meetings.
  • No deployment path in our data: proprietary weights, no licence disclosed, and no tracked offers.
  • Error rates rise sharply with audio difficulty, as for every model — meetings are about 8.6 times worse than clean read-aloud.

The figures above come from the Open ASR Leaderboard, an independent public test that runs every model on the same recordings. It is the only measurement of transcription quality we know of, so there are no other scores to show.

Where to get it

We hold no priced listing for Resonant 1 Flash.

There is no copy to download and no host in our price data, so Reson8 is where to look. We watch OpenRouter, the provider APIs we track and the LiteLLM price set; this version appears in none of them, which is a gap in what we collect rather than a statement about what Reson8 sells.
