Our take
Written Aug 3, 2026Nova Premier is Amazon's flagship text-and-image model that can handle up to one million tokens in a single request. It is built for enterprise workloads on Amazon Bedrock and is also available through OpenRouter, with identical pricing across both providers.
Pick this for enterprise multimodal workloads already on Amazon Bedrock, or very long-document analysis needing one million tokens. Use it for code generation where a 42.4% SWE-bench Verified score is acceptable. Skip it if you need chat quality scores, reasoning benchmarks, or competitive pricing between providers.
The case for it
- One-million-token request limit, among the largest in our catalogue, for long-document and codebase analysis.
- Identical pricing across both providers with no premium for the Bedrock ecosystem.
- Known throughput of 36 tokens per second on Amazon Bedrock.
The case against it
- Proprietary weights with no open-weight fallback and only two providers at identical pricing, so there is no competitive pressure.
- Thin benchmark coverage for a flagship launch: only one measured score in our data, with no chat, reasoning or multimodal benchmarks.
- Output costs five times the input rate, a steep ratio that makes long replies expensive.

AgenticPlanning, calling tools, staying on task

WritingWe do not rate this
Nobody we watch has scored this model for writing. Two boards come close and neither tests writing: Arena Creative Writing asks people which of two replies they prefer, and LiveBench Language tests whether a model understood a passage.
